The Flower Parade, the festival of Sun and Flowers: March. One of the most anticipated events in which a flood of color and music flood the waterfront with its 18,000 spectators and the very active participation of all inhabitants of Le Lavandou, it's time for an afternoon witnessed a parade of flowers. More than twenty thousand chariots dressed natural flowers and adorned in their finest attire come in a colorful dance alongside cheerleaders, musicians, bands and troubadours. The famous battle of the flowers will close the festival of sunshine and flowers, and you will bring back a souvenir of this amazing day.
The Feast of Saint John, traditionally accompanied by bonfires, is held annually to celebrate the longest day of the year. It takes place June 24, symbolic date of summer solstice. Program: torchlight fire on St. John, fireworks, and dance at City Hall.
The Feast of Saint Peter, in July, is a traditional festival where fishermen celebrate the sea and ask the patron saint of fishermen, Saint-Pierre, fishing is productive all year. The ceremony began with a procession from the church Saint-Louis, to the place where Ernest Reyers a church service is held outdoors. And then ends with a sea trip for a blessing of the waves. Program: folk dances in front of City Hall, procession, open air mass (place Ernest Reyer), benediction at sea, anchoïade.
Day Romerage in September, revived an ancient local tradition, when the Lavandou was still a small fishing hamlet attached to Bormes. Once a year, the villagers were celebrating their religious patron - St. Clair - by holding a long and solemn procession through the streets. Since 1996, the Saint Clair, east of Le Lavandou, welcomes the bust of the saint, also patron of seamstresses and whose legend he has the power to cure blindness. Punctuated trombonnades, drop on the beach, singing and dancing, the procession led the participants to the church of Saint-Louis in front of the chapel of Saint-Clair (2km). Three short plays, performed in place of Romerage conclude the procession before giving way to the folk dances: the dubbing of the prior, representing the civil authority in the place of worship, the giving of gifts to the poor hermit and the Revelation of Penitents Invalid.
Bol Sands, in December. The Sands Bowl is a race quads on the beach downtown. On a journey of becoming more beautiful each year, the best drivers from across the region coming clash between dunes and palms of the waterfront under the eyes of many spectators.
