The village is situated at 640 meters altitude on a plateau dominated by cliffs and lined Guilhaumard black marls rich in marine fossils from the Jurassic (175 million years ago), a favorite of researchers across Europe.

The plateau Guilhaumard: Plateau limestone (karst) heavily eroded in places (ruiniform chaos, sinkholes, caves, sinkholes) once forested with beech, now reduced to a dry lawn. We meet: a rich flora of over 1900 species, some endemic and rare wildlife to the few subjects (pipit, bunting, wheatear, newts, butterflies).

• The Church of St. Xist (tenth century):

• Its bell tower (tenth century), unique in the region, its elegant architecture and stands as a beacon silent lost in the land, provides a benchmark for the small hamlet nestled at her feet.
• Paintings of Nicolas Greschny fill the entire bottom and walls of the choir. These monumental works are 14 plates in the crucifixion and resurrection. They are still making to the cultural richness of the place.

• The garden, which adjoined the church and was fallow has been transformed into a botanical garden with over 300 medicinal and aromatic plants, whose fame began to spread beyond the region. Its sponsorship by the botanical garden of Montpellier proves, if proof were needed, quality and diversity.

• Guilhaumard The tray is particularly remarkable for its wealth of orchids and landscapes of cliffs, rocks ruiniform and dry grasslands. There are now only remnants of beech forest that covered part of the plateau. To promote the conservation of these remarkable spaces and to understand the challenges of this broad agenda, actions are taken on the set of Guilhaumard. Then admire and respect this natural wealth and fragile.
• The day starts in the village of La Bastide des Fonts where you will find a panorama. La Bastide des Fonts is named "bastide", newly built village, and "fonts" which means fountain. From there, you have a view over the valley of the Orb and the landscape of the Causses. Following its course, the Orb digs a green valley, narrow corridor opened into the limestone plateaux. Then discovered the source of the Sorgue.
• By the D493 and D93. The Church of St. Xist and its bell tower invite you to a halt. The choir of the church is decorated with paintings of Nicolas Greschny who bring the cultural richness of the place. The garden adjoining the church deserves attention. Nearly 300 different species appear, plant the most toxic aromatic. An opportunity to learn about a plant that surround us.
• By the D7 direction before then Fondamente Cornus direction Sorgue. Provide a picnic. Move toward the source of the Sorgue. By the way, do not forget to admire the magnificent castle of Swabi. On your way to the imposing stature of the castle still firmly on a rock despite the thousand years.
• Measuring 40 km long, the Sorgue rises in the plateau of Larzac near Cornus through a major resurgence to jump into the Dourdou Camarès. The source of the Sorgue is a site not to be missed, it offers an impressive spectacle: the underground river emerges from the earth at a rate of 2 cubic meters per second!
• By the D140 and D493. The day ends with the discovery of the Museum of Traditions on the town of Cornus. Just entered this strange and imaginary village, a fascinating life breath you into the world of your ancestors. Many models for the amazing realism invite young and old to share this adventure.
