Located between Laguiole and Flavin, Le Cayrol is a municipality recently instituted in 1866. If at the time of its creation, it was populated by 810 residents, Cayrols are now only 285, living for the majority of agriculture.

The average altitude of the town is 800 meters, with a relief characterized by deep gorges where rivers flow, or boraldes which originate at the foot of the Aubrac plateau. The boralde of Flaujac in particular is one of the longest in the Aveyron, partly classified ZNIEFF (natural area of ecological, fauna and flora).

A geological feature is renowned Cayrol. This is the slate of Anglars, who have a livelihood for many families for 4 centuries, from 1536 to 2007, the date of closure. The slate of Cayrol, extracted with explosives and hand-carved, covered the roofs of the region. They were renowned for their strength and impermeability, as well as for the color blue, so special.

• L'Abbaye de Bonneval, chocolate:

• The church Anglars:

• The town has a second church much earlier than the Cayrol, in the village of Anglars. Indeed, the church was part of Anglars from 1265 to the Knights Templar Commandery Espalion.
• It was fortified in 1381 as a refuge to people harassed by the constant attacks of the English and bands of looters. The towers were added in the 12th century, when wars of religion, which gives the church the remarkable pace of castle.
