The house of Bast was born in the late 12th century on a date that it is difficult to say today. It was largely endowed by the lords of Bedu, Gramat and Gourdon, and seems to have been in full operation in the early 13th century.
There are among its first commanders of Raymond Bush in 1230 and Adhemar of Peyrusse in 1264.
The establishment, however, encountered some difficulties later neighborhood: In 1275, the commander of Bastit whose name was Rudolph saw his property rights on some pastures challenged by the people of Gramat but in 1282 the Provincial Grand Master, Pons de Brohet, accepted an arrangement that solved the problem.
Then in 1293, the Seneschal of Quercy had to confirm its prerogatives in the area of high, medium and low justice in the parish of Saverguède that were challenged by the people of the king of England. Texts on the trials suffered by many attached to the Commandery Knights Templar were found, particularly with regard to Robert Raymond, who was commander in 1298 and Gérard de Caus of Rodez, who commanded the Baillie in 1305.
