Lavergne (the Gallic "verna" meaning "alder" or "Vergne") has a primarily agricultural. Composed of several hamlets (Lamothe Ales, Wood Green, King's Bridge and the town's village), the town lies in a region of green hills, crossed by the creek "The Dourdenne" plain and natural grasslands.
