Located in the Perigord 13 km from Bergerac, Lamonzie-Montastruc is a listed village surrounded by lush greenery.

Etymologically, Lamonzie takes its name from a monastery called in vulgar terms "of the country monges.

It was found by doing a search in the garden of the foundations is claimed to be those of the old convent.

Montastruc Castle, located 200 meters north of the village, which was in the 14th century one of the strongholds of the family of Abzac of the Twelve.
