Capital of the Duchy of Penthievre since the 10th century, Lamballe was a fortified city among the most important strongholds of Britain. The war of succession of Brittany and then retaliate by Cardinal de Richelieu had because of the castle: the home of the Earls of Penthievre, remains the imposing church of Notre Dame, which was the chapel. The subsequent destruction of walls and towers of access to the city have deleted the old separation between walled city and suburbs. A large craft and trade has contributed to the development of a unique heritage and original, which found traces including the Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions of the city, and the pottery museum. The memory of the famous painter Méheut Mathurin (1882-1958) is very active with the museum Mathurin Méheut located in a wonderful house of the 15th century, the Maison du Bourreau, historic monument. Thirty-two other half-timbered houses are also listed in the old city.
Located in the heart of a country suitable for farming, Lamballe also contains an original heritage tied to the horse with the National Stud, a 6-hectare site in the city, always accommodating fifty national standards.
- Lamballe be discovered while strolling. Several buildings listed Historical Monuments, streets, timbered houses? and a host of details you put on the track of history and life of residents. The floral highlights heritage. On the roof, many finials reflect a living tradition of pottery. This tradition is mentioned in two museums.
- City of horse Lamballe is, with its National Stud, the home of Postman Breton draft horse with outstanding paces.
- Haras National Lamballe: tour from June 15 to September 15 every day out of season tour daily at 15h except Monday. Groups by appointment all year.

- Located in a house with wood sides of the historic center, the museum is devoted to the painter Méheut Mathurin, native Lamballe, renowned artist, designer, illustrator, sculptor and ceramist who made his career in Paris (1882 -1958).

- Opening times: April: Monday to Saturday from 10am to 12am and from 14:30 to 17h. June to September: Monday to Saturday from 10am to 12pm and from 14.30 to 18. May, October, November and December: Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 14h30 to 17h.

- Museum of Popular Art Lamballe Country:
- This museum traces the history of the Capital of Penthievre. It is composed of three rooms accommodating collections.
- The Museum of Popular Art is open from March to October from Tuesday to Friday: 10am to 12pm and from 14:30 to 17h and Saturday from 14h30 to 17h.

- An ancient potters house, converted into an exhibition. This museum aims to trace the activity of "doers pots" that for at least a millennium, have the richness and authenticity of the town of La Poterie.
- Visit the museum during the summer on Thursdays and Saturdays from 14h to 18h.

- Hiking trails and a natural site classified the delight of those for whom nature is a precious heritage.

- On parade in town to give the 11am start of this great day riding. Five villages around thematic lines of sight and presentation up on the 20-acre site a kaleidoscope of horse, pony and donkey in Britain.
- Shows, information booths, demonstrations, baptisms and discovery activities, a parade in town. Restaurant on site.

- Thirty French and foreign authors, illustrators, comic book, a variety of publishing houses, exhibitions, debates, meetings, movie night, reading of texts by authors at the public library, meetings with school inmates? "Black on the Town" is all that and also the award "22 vla the thrillers"

- December: Christmas market at the Haras National Lamballe.
- The magic of Christmas moves into the alleys of the stud and stables converted into shops of artisans, artists, local producers. In the corridors of Haras illuminated, you meet Father Christmas, Saint Nicolas and his donkey carriages chime? While children play nice and warm in the workshop of elves, parents play Santa Claus in the boxes Shops . Each object can create its Christmas in creative workshops open to all.
