This village, cited in 1170 under the name of Landa, was a fief of the barony of Toucy.
It will be renamed Lalande St. Marceau no longer maintain than Lalande.
The lords of this castellany are known from 1527. In 1585 the lands were purchased by Lalande From Deffand who will own until 1809.
The manor became marquis in 1647, under Louis Du Deffand Lieutenant General Orleans, Dunois and Vendômois.
The personality best known of this family is Ms. Du Deffand, whose literary salon was one of the busiest in the 18th century. But it did little to stay on his land Puisaye where she was bored and could not bear living with her husband.
The castle, built in the early 17th century, was enlarged in the central part of Louis Du Deffand and will be completed by the end of this century.
The church is remarkable, will also be built during this century under the auspices of Ms. Du Deffand and will be the only church in the seventeenth Puisaye entirely.
Today Lalande is mainly a farm with over 130 inhabitants
