An ax jadélite Neolithic, the timetable from the site of the fixture, show the ancient history of Lachau.
In 1209, Lachau has a charter of liberties granted by Raybaud of Lachau son of Ripert Mévouillon. This charter, very liberal for its time, is one of the first in the region.
The Church of the Magdalene, the Priory of the Knights Templar and the house has totally disappeared. All that remains of this period (thirteenth century) the Church of Our Lady of Calma and the tower of variables.
The lands of the nobles and clergy were seized and sold, and the castle, between 29 and 24 Germinal Ventose third year (March 8 1795.2 April 1795). The current cadastre is still marked by the fragmentation of land.
Lachau population was about 120 inhabitants in 1428, 400 in 1636, 675 in 1775, 737 in 1840, 907 in 1860, 624 in 1884 and 206 today.
SIGHTSEEING
Tower variable is a medieval building (twelfth or thirteenth century) for which very little information is available. The building is being stabilized.
The Notre-Dame de Calma is a monument of the 13th century. Restored under the auspices of The Association Lumiaïre, it is now used to host concerts and cultural events. The traditional Mass is always held on August 15.
The castle dates from the 18th century. Divided into lots and sold during the Revolution, it is currently home to several families.
The village church was built in the late 19th century, replacing the church of St. Martin, which threatened ruin.

The town festival is held the weekend of August 15. It gives rise to organizing a garage sale, and disco balls, and of course competition bocce balls in the long run.
