La Bastide-d'Armagnac is located 30 km northeast of Mont-de-Marsan and 12 km from Barbotan-les-Thermes. Nestled in the heart of Bas Armagnac Landes, this small village has kept its authenticity and its medieval charm.
Following the marriage of Eleanor of Aquitaine to Henry Plantagenet, Gascony became English in 1291 and is the sixth Earl of Armagnac Bernard gets permission to found La Bastide, the English king Edward the first. Over 150 years, straddling the 13th and 14th century, 400 new cities will be built.
