Ancient city founded by the monks of the Abbey of St Martial de Limoges, and counted some 5500 inhabitants, La Souterraine is a small town where life is good. It is a collection of shops and services in the greenery of the countryside Creusoise.

Located at the intersection of highways A20 and N145, served by railway line Paris-Toulouse, La Souterraine is the essential gateway to the Creuse and Limousin.

Step historic city still echoes the footsteps of pilgrims who, since the Middle Ages come to find rest in the shelter of the fortifications.
