Land of traditions of Provence, you La Seyne-sur-Mer calls between sea and forest. SIGHTSEEING
  • The old center: In the late Middle Ages, part of Six-Fours, some people lay down in a place called "the Sagno (aquatic plant) of commercial warehouses and a pier for loading ships. By the mid 16th century, a port is dug and a church was built. The development of this hamlet Marine encourages its residents to seek their independence from Six-Fours and definitely takes the name of La Seyne in 1850.
  • The gateway to sites:
  • Location: Naval Park - downtown.
  • Characteristic of Louis 13th revisited by the Belle Epoque. At the shipyards, workers were passing under the arch of white stone and red brick to join their workshops.
  • The Notre Dame de Bon Voyage:
  • Address: Rue Jacques Laurent - downtown.

  • Open Monday to Saturday from 7h30 to 18h and Sundays from 7:30 to 13h.
  • The church was built in 1674 on the shore of the harbor where she greeted the departure and return of the sailors. In 1890, architect Paul Page, with the assistance of Michel Pacha, a deputy of a Gothic Revival facade. The mechanical organs, Francois Marseille Mader (1892), is an historical monument and gilded wooden statues of St. Peter and St. Paul, the reliquary bust of St. Eloi (Allard 1819).
  • The lift bridge:
  • Location: Naval Park - downtown.
  • The lift bridge was completed in 1917 by companies Daydé and Eiffel, to allow the railway to reach the site of the former shipyards located across the harbor.
  • Scored in the supplementary inventory of historic buildings (industrial heritage) since 1987, the drawbridge is now a scenic lookout where you can admire one of the most beautiful bays in Europe.
  • The visit is free.
  • The Sablettes:
  • Built between 1950 and 1953 by Fernand Pouillon, the hamlet of Sablettes offers visitors a unique view on the Cape Sicié and Two Brothers.
  • In 2004, the district and Villa Sablettes Sylvacanne obtained from the Ministry of Culture Heritage label of the 20th century.
  • Tamaris: One of the first resorts on the Mediterranean coast, imagined and created from scratch by Michel Pasha in 1880 (development of communication channels, a set of 70 villas for most oriental style, hotels, casinos , gardens ...).
  • Bay Lazaret:
  • The huts on stilts and mussel beds make all its particularity and its charm.
  • The best way to discover the bay is to board the shuttle boat 18M line network Sablettes the mistral - Tamaris - Toulon. Tickets on sale at the tourist office Sablettes.
  • The mussel and fish farms did not visit.
  • The Institute Michel Pacha:
  • Address: 1337 Corniche Michel Pacha - Tamaris.
  • Artwork mistress of the architect Paul Page (opened 1899), the institute is a magnificent monument of Oriental style bordering the Bay of Lazaret. Attached to the University of Lyon is a research and teaching??
  • The Institute is not open to the public.
  • The Villa Tamaris art center:
  • Address: Avenue de la Grande Maison.

  • Open Tuesday to Sunday from 14h to 18h30 except holidays. Free admission.
  • This villa built in 1890 by Michel Pacha and restored in 1991, recalls his plane cubic pediments decorated with garlands, its large windows and terraces with balustrades, Tuscan style.
  • The art center is open all year superb exhibitions.
  • Guided tours by appointment.
  • Parking for cars and coaches.
  • The height of the Eguillette:
  • Address: Corniche Bonaparte.
  • Open at Heritage Days in September and at events. Free admission.
  • Built between 1672 and 1680, and then perfected by Vauban to complete protection of the harbor. The fort is in low battery: the windows are at sea level, to make bullets that ricochet through the water, piercing the hulls of ships.
  • The fort still belongs to the Navy.
  • The Fort Balaguier:
  • Address: 924 Corniche Bonaparte.

  • Open Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 12pm and from 14h to 18h (1 July to 31 August from 15h to 19h). Closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and holidays.
  • Built in 1634 and strengthened by Vauban, the cannon tower provides protection to the harbor of Toulon, crossing its fire with those of the royal court. Since 1970, the fort is a naval museum focuses on local maritime history, the galleys of Toulon and the lives of convicts. Filed with the inventory of historical monuments since 1973.
  • Admission fee.

  • Fort Napoleon
  • Address: Road Sangnier.

  • Open during exhibitions from Tuesday to Saturday from 14h to 18h (entry free).
  • Built between 1812 and 1821 on the orders of the Emperor Napoleon. He does not participate in combat, except in 1944 during the liberation of our territory.
  • Fort Napoleon houses a conference center and cultural exchanges as well as a contemporary art gallery, it hosts numerous events including the Jazz Festival, the Cuban festival and holidays Calendale.
  • Car parking.
  • The battery Peyras:
  • Address: path of the battery Peyras. Massif Cape Sicié.
  • Open to the public during the heritage days, tours are also organized throughout the year with the association militaire conservation group.
  • Built in the hills of the Massif Sicié Cape in 1879, its mission was to protect the space between the open sea and Sablettes Today Peyras remains the only German flak battery still in a state in Europe.
