Former Gallo-Roman, the village has been built up around a 12th century priory, which became one of the first sauveté Agen. In 1205, became La Sauvetat-de-Savères bastide. Strolling through the streets of the town, one can discover many ancient remains. The square before the church is quiet and gentle, well-proportioned.
