Located 45 km from Alencon, 25 km from Flers and 6 km from Bagnoles-de-l'Orne, La Ferte-Mace is a city of flowers 3 flowers about 6 602 inhabitants and green holiday resort.

The origin of La Ferte-Mace back in time to feudal times. A fortress was built many years ago. The owner, Mr. Mace, came as a seal for posterity, specify the membership fee and baptized the old barony of the name it bears. The writer Jean-Pierre Brisset, celebrated by Jules Romains, Marcel Duchamp, Raymond Queneau, Michel Foucault and Marc Décimo, died there.

• Notre-Dame, M. Liger work begun in 1851. Construction impressive 70 m long by 38 at the transept. High of 22 m, its steeples soar to 60 m. The towers are home to 16 bells. The carillon is an exceptional instrument in the region.
