Located on the banks of the Cher, Touraine, the common La Croix-en-Touraine charm you with its heart of the villages of Touraine.

From the 11th century, mention the name of St-Quentin-Bléré close to the village then built around its church. Built first in castellany, under the archdiocese of Tours, and a barony, this charming village in the 12th century belongs to the family of Sainte Maure, then the family of Maille.

The Village invites you to stroll along the Cher to the dam needle where you can experience this unique system of water regulation and admire the beautiful architecture of the lock houses. Stroll in the landscaped gardens or take a leap into the past with the Romanesque church of the 12th century.

The church of Saint-Quentin Close: The semi-circular apse and three arched windows make this building a magnificent example of Romanesque architecture of the 12th century. Transept arms are lined with chapels, the octagonal tower also has small openings Romance. The porch extends the nave of the church not vaulted. The church contains a 15th century Pieta.

Edward Andrew Park: Created by Edouard André (French landscape known - 1840-1911), owner of this domain from 1871. He alternated with interior views by hours, shade and shelter, light and rest. The set generates a feeling of harmony which is still visible today. Acquired by the municipality, it is open to the public since November 2003. It has been restored, recalling some of the achievements of Edouard André. A bandstand performed on the lawn beyond the brook that runs through this place Villarçon. Two trellises hemispherical chestnut wood decorated with circular bench that support climbing roses. Nine squares surrounded by boxwood host a rose garden, roses famous names recalling the history and royalty, musicians, castles and gardens, painters, writers, seasons. The space created by Gobérande Edouard André, a pool of 36 m² with water plants, a robust structure in which a bench welcomes the public. A reading room and a toddler area, with 3 games, leads directly to the link that takes visitors fresh in a few steps from the Place de la Liberation Park. You will also find in this park, a play area for young children. Five of the most beautiful trees are illuminated at night.

The library of the town managed by the association Bibliochouette open on Wednesdays from 10am to 12pm and from 15h to 17h, Saturday 10h to 12h and 14h to 16h, which offers regular exhibitions and events around the book.

La Croix-en-Touraine is ideally situated at the gates of the biggest castles of the Loire, only 6 km and 10 km Chenonceaux Amboise with its chateau and the Clos Luce (last home of Leonardo da Vinci).

At the gates of the city, enjoy the many activities of Cher: water skiing, canoeing and traditional boat ride on the Cher passage under the castle of Chenonceau, passing through locks.
