Milestone illuminated on the Wine Route, Kaysersberg, surprised by the charm of its medieval sites clustered around the church (Romanesque portal and carved altarpiece, a masterpiece of rarely equaled) and fortified bridge dominated by the castle (remains of the old free city of the Decapolis). Its strategic position revives the memory of the Roman road that connected the Alsace Lorraine. This is one of the most charming cities of Alsace with its cobbled streets and timbered houses richly decorated. In addition, the hometown of Dr. Schweitzer is characterized by the approval of his walks in a quiet forest. Located on the road to St Jacques de Compostela.

Be sure to do a walk through the vineyard (1:30 return) at the military cemetery of Sigolsheim (necropolis) located above the vineyards of Mambourg (Grand Cru). Lovely view of Kaysersberg and the Plain of Alsace.
