Bordered by the foothills of volcanic mountains and Cézallier Dore, at the confluence of the rivers Allier and Couze, Issoire is a door to a sunny lunch already so close to the A75 motorway, but also to the Regional Parks Volcanoes of Auvergne and Livradois.
The historical center shows examples of 15th century architecture, such as hotels Clement Bohier or home arcade. The Clock Tower, old belfry in the heart of the city, is dedicated to the history of the Renaissance, to discover through Scénovision, films, exhibitions, etc.. At night, the journey through the visionary heritage is a real pleasure.
Round tiles, sponge, arkose blonde, blue and ocher facades shaded up a city with narrow streets and small squares, looking south over which reigns the abbey St. Austell the 12th century. The architecture of the head with the bell tower is typical of the Romanesque Auvergne. Inside this building is renowned for its storied capitals and colorful decoration of the vaults and its choir.
