Husseren-les-Châteaux is the village's highest vineyard. The view over the Rhine valley to the horizon from the Black Forest is beautiful. The raw harvested on its hillsides of Pfersigberg and Eichberg are justly famous and known since the 15th century.

City for the first time in the archives of the Bishopric of Basel in 1247, it was at first simple huts that housed the artisans and workmen in the 11th and 12th centuries built three castles, and the 13th century abbey Marbach, hence the name "Hausern", that is to say, "houses" which became Husseren and Husseren the Castles in 1925.

Prosperous before the war 30 years under the tutelage bishop of Basel and the lords of Hattstatt, then Schauenburg, Husseren experienced the horrors of war and was even sacked by the Swedes in 1633.

Prosperity returned after 1648 through the Swiss and German immigrants and the development of viticulture by noble families and Poltier Cambefort. Husseren was even a school from 1669.

Today, twenty wine, proud of their wines, some wine cellars, make Husseren planted at the start of the scenic route of the Five Castles, an ideal place of calm and stay for tourists and city dwellers tired of the hectic bustle of modern life.

The new church dedicated to St. Pancras was built in 1885.
