Houx village on the banks of the canal see and Louis XIV.

In the year 1250, the village Houx, Hussum then called, was a lordship and had 60 fires (homes). Today, the municipality has 819 inhabitants. It is located 20 km from Chartres and 20 miles from Rambouillet, near the Beauce, in the Eure Valley.

The village focal point for Maintenon Epernon Gallardon and is bordered by the valley of the Eure. It is crossed by the canal and Voise Louis XIV.
