Honfleur (formerly Honnefleu, original Viking name) is an ancient city that the documents mention from the 11th century when it was one of the important towns of the Duchy of Normandy. Its privileged location, Harbor estuary and sea port, determines its dual mission: the defense of the Royal River and the departure of the great adventures on the ocean sea.
