In a romantic at heart of Val d'Aumance, Hérisson is a medieval village located in the Allier 3 hours from Paris, 1h from Clermont-Ferrand and 20 minutes from Montlucon.

Hérisson offers real historical and archaeological interest. The city, surrounded by a wall flanked by 22 towers, developed at the foot of the castle, in a loop of Aumance. Three fortified gates gave access to the three main streets that converged on the Place Chapter (of the collegiate church of St Saviour whose only tower remains today).
