One of the most beautiful villages-street village Henridorff was founded in 1614 by Henry, Duke of Lorraine, to boost agricultural colonization and host families evicted from Catholic Arzviller.
Former Canal de la Marne au Rhin, a chain of 15 locks, passes over the territory of the municipality as well as the Paris-Strasbourg railway 2 km in the valley of Teigelbach and Zorn. In this valley is the hamlet of Hofmühl, former head of the glassware of the Vosges. There is also the territory of the commune of red sandstone quarries and disused Grebe.
Associational life is an important activity "village". Many sports and cultural associations give young people the opportunity to exhibit their talents, their know-how. A beautiful room can accommodate a sociocultural public meetings hosted by members and leaders during performances by the clubs.
Structure: Henridorff is a beautiful village street, the extremely regular structure. The houses are contiguous, perfectly aligned, lined with large usoirs. They form two fronts continuous frames, apart from some hollow teeth, over six hundred meters. A row of fruit trees was planted behind each house. The whole (main street and orchards) is in a square. This ancient structure is complemented by very strong extensions of suburban types, which grow mainly in the margins of the belt of orchards (street on either side, rue du Stade). Public space is composed of very large usoirs, mostly grassed and well maintained. They are mostly very well preserved and are still part of public space: they have rarely been appropriated (through hurdles) by local residents. Their exceptional breadth has enabled the development of some trees. These beautiful usoirs, Lorraine village characteristics must be preserved. Note the relative discretion, and even in places the lack of overhead, freeing perspective on Grand Street.
Architecture: Henridorff retains some beautiful houses in Lorraine, which traditionally accounted under the same roof, steeply inclined, housing and local farm. They are characterized by a large barn door, beautiful frames and shutters painted stoneware. Some of these farms, which probably date from the 18th century, are nearly intact and in very good condition.
