SIGHTSEEING
  • The Church:
  • The church, cruciform in shape, was originally isolated in the woods between Heilles and Morainval. Built around 1193 and amended in the 16th century, the fact remains, this time its Romanesque bell tower which gives it its originality of its cornice beauvaisine characteristic, square, two double windows on each face, corbels odd under the cornice of a hat covered with slate. Inside the tower is a bell named in 1753 by Sir Toussaint Serpe, priest and pastor of Heilles, and named "Anne" by Monsignor Philippe, comte de Noailles and Dame Anne-Claude-Louise d'Arpajon, Comtesse de Noailles .
  • The choir is Gothic, with windows formed twin warheads unadorned, we notice any of the transept window of time of transition.
  • The nave, older than the choir, has been redesigned and a side door angular (Door of the Dead) has been blocked. At the end of the nave, near the main altar is the chapel of the Blessed Virgin, restored in 1855 at the expense of the abbot Milliere, vicar general of the Bishop of Beauvais. Father Milliere was also rebuilt at his expense, the sanctuary, raising the roof, by piercing the windows, creating a rose decorated canopies.
  • The Chapel of Saint-Claude, parallel to the Blessed Virgin, was also subject to intelligent restoration due to the generosity of Father Milliere father in the same style as that of the Holy Virgin. Both chapels formed with the chancel and nave true transepts. He later they were paved with mosaic tiles.
  • The Milliere, father and son, were not the only benefactors of the church, the inhabitants of Heilles also participated in decorating their church with a painting of St. Martin, their boss, showing the largest and charitable scenes from his life.
  • The sanctuary is lit by four windows, having been repaired in 1865 at the expense of the town were decorated with colored glass called grisaille.
