The city is located in Alsace Haguenau North, about thirty miles from Strasbourg. 4th city of Alsace, Bas-Rhin second with over 35,000 inhabitants, Haguenau is a true communications hub, which has its location, always acted as a hub. Haguenau is located in the middle of a vast forest of 14,000 hectares. This range of greenery is a true home of calm and beauty nestling in the heart of Alsace in the north.
With its well-appointed pedestrian area, its some 580 shops, a twice-weekly market, bars and restaurants, its areas of business operations, many public services and health Haguenau is a center of attraction.
Founded around 1115 by Frederick the Borgne, a vassal of the emperor, Haguenau owes its development to the Emperor Frederick Barbarossa first, sixth and Henri Frederic second resided there many times.
After a rich and turbulent (capital of the Decapolis, double fire, annexation to Germany is rebuilding ...), Haguenau to become today the largest center of employment and services of the Northern Alsace. It has two museums, Alsatian and History, and many monuments in the heart of the city. 4th city of Alsace, Haguenau remains a city where life is good.
