• Yesterday and Today:

• Gros-Réderching is mentioned for the first time in documents of the time in 1150. At that time it belonged to the lordship of Bitche. The oral legend reports the foundation of the village at the time of Frankish invasions (fifth century AD).
• Réderching come from Roderchingen, named after the Duke Roderich who would have been his residence.
• In 1332, the abbey acquired there Sturzelbronn areas.
• During the first half of the 16th century, the village counted 45 fires.
• In autumn 1578, Gros-Réderching was ravaged by a huge fire that destroyed most of the village, in effect, small peasant houses, mostly built of wood and thatched were burning like torches. • The Thirty Years War (1618-1648):

• The scourges that were war, pestilence and famine befell almost continuously on the part of Lorraine for centuries making ablaze entire villages.
• The war reached peaks the 1630s when four armed Imperial troops and Lorraine on the one hand, French and Swedish armies on the other hand, fought in the region.

• Gros-Réderching the 18th century:

• Gros-Réderching 19th and 20th century

• From 1815 to 1870, the region experienced a long period of peace.

• Gros-Réderching during the Second World War:

• Liberation: The neighboring Alsace through the combined actions of the 2nd DB Leclerc and the 7th U.S. Army General Patch was released in November 1944.
