Located on the East Balcony of Vercors, Gresse-en-Vercors was a village resort summer winter delight you by its unique setting. Largest municipality in the Regional Natural Park of Vercors in the heart of the Highlands Reserve, offers panoramic views that will not end up surprising you. Ideal for families, its many activities make everyone happy.

You will be able to admire the Grand Veymont (highest point of the Vercors located 2341 m above sea level) or the majestic Mont Aiguille, birthplace of mountaineering.

Go through the village, climb the peaks and you will discover, beyond the hills Trièves, breathtaking views of the Alps, Mont Blanc to the Ecrins.

Village of 380 inhabitants at the foot of the French Dolomites, Gresse-en-Vercors holds everything that nature has to offer us beautiful. Rivers, pastures and forests are a natural protected area ideal for relaxation.

Ski resort since 1965?? Indeed, at the autumn 1965, under the leadership of Mayor of the time, Mr Emile Mouttet ski resort was opened. The first pre-season preparations were put in place on the area of the City, the historic site of Alpine ski Gresse. The first ski lifts were installed, tourist homes were built, and gradually expands to the station to be 19 ski slopes, 40 km cross-country skiing, and approximately 2500 tourist beds. From a "village" to a "station" to become a true "resort village" in 40 years a great collective adventure.

Cradle of Resistance: In 1943, the organized resistance in the Vercors. At the heart of forests, scrub a dozen exist. In early 1944, they gather 400-500 civilians and military, often very young, fueled by a population generally favorable and supplied with arms by parachute allies. The inhabitants of Gresse-en-Vercors participated in these operations, including the battle of the No Town, No Berrièves and Pas de l'Aiguille. Thirty-resistant "Gressot" are commemorated on the two monuments located in the village and the city of Gresse-en-Vercors.
