Decipher the history of Grenoble!

Major archaeological site located in one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city, MAG - Archaeological Museum Grenoble Saint-Laurent - offers a journey of nearly two thousand years of history. The museum contains archaeological remains of the necropolis of the 4th century to the 19th century church, witnesses of urban history, religious and human Grenoble. The site is renowned for its exceptional sixth century crypt (crypt Oyand St.), a rare and precious relics of the Middle Ages in France.

The achievement of recent work has allowed to highlight the richness of this architectural historical monument. The church and cloister are highlighted by an original set that uses many digital tools to give them any archaeological remains evocative power: big projections, brought to light and sound, interactive terminals, audio-guides.

Of the tombs excavated in 1500, nearly 2000 objects, witnesses of changing attitudes and beliefs were found. The bulk of the collections on display is a result of these excavations.

Free admission for all.

Open daily from 10h to 18h except Tuesday. Closed 1 January, 1 May and 25 December.
