Located north of the Cevennes and dominated by the Greenhouse Bar (945 m), this village is marked by the transition between a typical Mediterranean landscape and a mountain from where space is already a great variety of sites and landscapes due to differences altitude and soil.
The village has retained many old houses, built of sandstone dating from the 16th and 17th centuries that reflect the prosperity of an era that drew its wealth from agriculture and raising silkworms. One of the interesting tourist Gravières Chassezac which is the form of small beaches very pleasant.

To see: the Church of St. Victor (twelfth century) is that part of the Romanesque church Gravières dates back to 12th century, while the western end of the nave and the entrance of Gothic inspiration, are much latest. Inside: Tree of Jesse.
In particular: "The Virada of Batistou" By taking the route of this small Ardèche born in 1900, you will not put your tracks on the latest generation farmer. You will walk, mostly on roads lined with walls, stairs and almost always you'll see mas, hamlets, with buildings dating from the 16th century. While walking, you will discover the day of its meetings and Batistou. This circuit loop has a 6 km altitude of 280 meters and occurs in around 3 hours depending on the curiosity of everyone.

River Chassezac promises a bracing swim, torrents Cevennes fruitful fishing and nature walks pleasant surrounding.

Many activities are available nearby: walking, rock climbing, caving, horseback riding, but also canyoning, swimming, fishing and canoeing in the gorges of Chassezac.
