Built in the 10th century on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Rougier of Kamares, the castle has beautiful vaulted rooms serviced by a spiral staircase. Cellar, guard room, great room, kitchen and bedrooms reflect life in the Middle Ages.
Restored the last 30 years by an association, it became a permanent center for cultural events including guided tours and free; visits costume for children discovery game, outdoor play, the door enchanted farmhouse, museum images piety; Museum plaster museum of agricultural machinery.
Hours: Open daily, school holidays Easter to autumn holidays from 10am to 12pm and from 14:30 to 18:30. In July and August from 10am to 18:30 without interruption. The rest of the year from 10am to 12pm and from 14:30 to 18:30 except weekends and public holidays (except by appointment).

For 20 years, the Friends of Castle Montaigut organize a theater festival in the natural setting of the courtyard of his castle, one of the oldest in the Rouergue.
Each year the festival welcomes professional companies to promote theater popular in rural areas. No topic is preferred, classical theater, the Theater, drama to comedy, everything is designed to satisfy the greatest number of spectators, children, adults.
