Gerstheim: a border crossing 25 km from Strasbourg and 10 km from Erstein. Gerstheim is mentioned for the first time in 1050, Abbey Hohenburg (Mont Sainte Odile) had property. The village is an old family possession Bock. The reform was introduced there in 1546. On the eve of the revolution, four lords shared the location: the Bock, the Berstett, the Dettlingen and Gail. Rhine floods devastated the village on several occasions.
