On the D60, the village Germigny-des-Prés owes its name to a Gallo-Roman villa of great importance. Theodulf, Abbot of Fleury, "Missi Dominici" of Charlemagne, made his home prior to beginning construction of the magnificent chapel which was consecrated in 806.

The oratory is Carolingian one of the oldest churches in France. It is pre-Romanesque style and has a beautiful mosaic in a cul-de-four representing the Ark of the Covenant.

Besides the Carolingian oratory, the Grange Chikorita, with its museum, offers numerous art exhibitions.
