The community de Gennes has no pool for watering livestock, so in 1770, it plans to build three fountains, and in 1789, to repair the fountain Saint Gengulph located outside the village. But after a prolonged shortage of water, it was decided to build a new fountain in the village center. In 1839, architect Martin has plans for a wash. But proposes a new municipality in 1840, to complete this building under construction, in raising it to a floor to accommodate a meeting room that will replace the existing common house. The work done by Bastide d'Ornans, are received in 1844. Thus was built the current mayor of Genoa.
