Nestled on the edge of the department of Indre and the Creuse Valley, the village of Gargilesse-Dampierre is ranked among the most beautiful villages in France. With a rich historical past literary and pictorial, thanks to the presence of George Sand, who attracted many friends in Gargilesse Parisian who liked to engage in the painting "plein air" on the banks of the Creuse.
Even today the charm of this picturesque village built at the bottom of a funnel tight rocky hills around the castle and church, still attracts painters, sculptors and craftsmen. It is possible to discover their work with the seasons, in various galleries and exhibitions.
