Close to Paris by RER B bus with connections, Fresnes demographic development began early in the 20th century (population of workers and artisans). This development was accelerated early in the second half of the 20th century, often through residential trees. With 25 315 inhabitants today, the city has preserved green space offering pleasant places to walk. The social, cultural and sports is largely driven by over 250 associations.

The city is rich in municipal infrastructure that enable a variety of activities (cinema, theater, music, sports, senior clubs ...).

• Regarding Heritage:

• The Church of St. Eloi was built in the 12th century on the site of an ancient oratory. It was located on the edge of the lordship of Cottinville, probably the site of the present Lady Chapel of the church. It was largely rebuilt in the 16th century, consolidated and enlarged in the 19th century, restored in the 20th, and its exterior decoration was completed in 2003 by sculptor Stéphane Daireaux.
• The Farm Cottinville belonged to the lordship of Fresnes, the 12th century until the Revolution. Farm was acquired by the abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Pres in the 18th century before being sold to rich citizens after the Revolution. This farm was the largest of the town, were grown forages, potatoes, green vegetables, vines and fruit trees. The Farm is now home to the Living Museum of the Val de Bievre, the Tithe Barn Theatre-Fresnes, theater offering a cultural season from September to May, and the Conservatory at the departmental outreach.
• The look of the No. 3 Aqueduct Medici. In 1609, Henri IV, concerned about the water supply of Paris, decided to reactivate the Roman aqueduct which, Wissous, went to Lutece. At his death, Marie de Medici takes over the project to bring water from the water Rungis square to the Palace of Luxembourg. If work begins in 1612, it was not until 1628 that the water is distributed to the Parisians. 22 eyes of the 28 originally built remain. They gave their name to the village streets.
