Fermanville, common tourist combining the charm of the coast and the grove, is situated on the north-east coast of the Cotentin peninsula, halfway between Cherbourg and Barfleur. The territory of the municipality extends on both sides of Cap Levi, which closes the bay to the east of Cherbourg.
The habitat is dispersed 11.6 km of coastline 15.5 km ² and 24 hamlets of houses of pink granite. Fermanville is crossed by a small "river" The coastal Poult which flows into the sea of the Channel between the handle and the Mondrée the visor.
The particularity of the municipality is to benefit from a very protected environment, where nature gives residents a quality of life greatly appreciated and sought after. This was also praised at the time by Marie Ravenel, Meunière local poet of the 19th century.

SIGHTSEEING
Fort du Cap Levi
Built under the First Empire, the Fort du Cap Levi was erected in 1801 at the request of Napoleon, to protect cabotage in the vast harbor of Cherbourg putting the ship away from his artillery and defend Levi harbor. This semi-circular battery of 35 meters in diameter with two guns was 24, with 11 other batteries, the defenses of the Cotentin coast against the British navy.
Located in the heart of the natural coastline Saire Valley, the site became, in 1990, owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral which entrusts the development, management and promotion of the General Council of the channel within the Network of Departmental sites and museums of the Channel.
The Fort du Cap Levi is now a place to visit and stay. It reveals the Napoleonic military architecture, a view of the vast harbor of Cherbourg and the surrounding natural environments such as the handles and Brick Tocqueboeuf the moors Brûlé, Mondrée beach, port Pignot the Valley mills accessible from the footpath that runs along the foot of the fort.
Semaphore Cape Levi, located 10 minutes walk from Fort du Cap Levi, it is visitable for group visits or during Heritage Days.
Viaduct Fermanville: imposing structure that allowed to cross the valley of the mills and deliver the goods to the Val de Saire Cherbourg.
Brulay Moors: protected natural area owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral, which is managed through the introduction of Exmoor ponies and goats. Presence of a French battery of defense. This space is an opportunity for many hikes and enjoy a spectacular view of the harbor of Cherbourg and Fermanville.
Numerous hiking trails as well beachfront in wooded environment. Hiking lovers will find something to their hearts content.
The third Sunday in June Campagn'Art: the village of artists. The inhabitants of three villages (Carré, Judea and high Fermanville) put their gardens available to artists (painting, sculpture, photography, etc.) and open to the public for an unforgettable day. Free admission.
