TOWN PRESENTATION
  • The location: Feneu is located north of the city Anjou, 12 km from Angers. On the road, Feneu is 10 minutes from the A11 Paris / Nantes and a road Sablé / Angers. Several means of transportation exist: bus # 33 that goes to Angers, and the No. 7 line that goes to Los Angeles via Montreuil-Juigné; voitur'âges system to transport people with problems mobility and Irigotaxi for trips up to Montreuil-Juigné (reservations required).

  • The church of Saint Martin is a former Feneu Foundation (1064). Provided the existing building footprint is mostly from the late 18th century as the nave, transept and the tower were rebuilt between 1770 and 1771. Built on the site of a small temple fanum, it is already mentioned in the archives of 1064. It was almost entirely rebuilt from 1770 to 1771. Early in the second half of the 19th century, the interior of the church has been a major development campaign: installation of a platform, construction of a chapel very slightly raised. Paneling, wood beams and punches of the frame were covered with polychrome Gothic Revival. The walls were decorated with false joints to double lines. The floor tile clay was removed and replaced by a floor slab of stone and slate, except in the apse. The windows were implemented, in 1862. In 1962, two old buildings juxtaposing the church were replaced by the present sacristy. In 1967, the primitive paintings of the choir were rebuilt, replaced the pews, the church is stripped of its lamps, the altar was pushed to the bottom of the choir.   • The Port Albert: the site of Port Albert is located in a bend of the Mayenne, 1 km from the town center.   • The town hall: built in the second half of the 17th century, the largest presbytery of Maine-et-Loire becomes mayor in 1981. In 1793, Pierre Nourry become the first mayor of Feneu. City Council in 1809 will seek a place to settle, house his archives at the center of the village: the common house to be located in a room of the presbytery, with an annual payment of 36 francs. The great wall and the gate in the alignment of the church will be slaughtered in 1959 to create the current position. In 1965, the part of the west gable is annexed to the town hall to enable it to grow: it was reached by a door on the gable (current access to the post office). In 1975, City Council decided to completely restore the building to install the services of the town hall, post office and perception.
