City in 1227, the village is part of the lordship of Rougemont and Angeot parish until 1767, when he was attached to the Saint-Germain-le-Châtelet.

The first documents on the history of Felon date from the early 13th century. At the time, provincial Count Otto II, Count of Habsburg becomes. Felon is the stronghold of the family De Felon, whose members met in 1227 attached to the Habsburg family. Felon was quoted in 1227 as the "Vuolon" and under two different names "Furlon" between 1235 and 1241 and "Foulon" between 1565 and 1585. It is from this date the name of the village turns into Felon.

One hypothesis about the origin of the name of the village would be a fulling mill existed in this place. This hamlet belonged to the imperial family of Austria until 1648, when it becomes the property of the Kingdom of France.

Until the Revolution, the village is part of the lordship of Rougemont, which depends County Ferrette. Component of the parish until 1767 Angeot, Felon then became vicar of St. Germain from 1808 to 1824. Only in 1833 an order of King Louis-Philippe I, officially recognizes the independence of the parish.

After being attached to the Canton of Fontaine, Felon since 1984 is linked to that of Rougemont-le-Château.
