The town of Evian is located on the south shore of Lake Geneva, backed by the foothills of the pre-Chablais Alps, north of the department of Haute-Savoie. Neighboring Switzerland is 13 km from the lake (Lausanne daily flights in 35 minutes) and 45 km from Geneva.

Climatic health resort, Evian is developing tourism at the beginning of the 19th century after the discovery of properties of its mineral water, now exported worldwide. Today, the station accepts the seasons different forms of tourism: beach, wellness and fitness, conferences and seminars, sports tourism, cultural tourism.

Gastronomic specialties are naturally influenced by the products of the lake and the mountain perch fillets and whitefish from Lake Geneva, Savoy recipes based cheeses (Abondance, Reblochon, Tomme ..), white wines of Feast, Marin .. .

• "City of Lights" (1885-1896):

• The former summer residence of the family Lumière Lyon (parents of the famous brothers, inventors of cinema), this sumptuous villa of classic French Renaissance-inspired, became the Town Hall in 1927.
• Free visit of the hall, large lounge and living room marriages from 9am to 11am and from 13:30 to 17h on weekdays.

• Theatre and Casino:

• Theatre (1883-1885) is neo-classical style, made by a student of Charles Garnier (architect of the Paris Opera). With a capacity of 300 seats, he saw every summer with a program of comedy "boulevard" in the "summer theater."
• The Casino was created in 1911 by architect JA Hébrard on the site of the castle of Blonay, bequeathed to the city in 1877 to create a "home game".

• Church of Our Lady of the Assumption Church of medieval origin, it contains frescoes, wooden stalls, statues ...
• Funicular (1907-1913):

• Its function was to transport the spa guests from major hotels located on the heights of Evian, near the source, the bar and the thermal spa (now Palais Lumière).
• It works for free every day from May to September. Departure station at the rear of the Palace of Light.

• Light Palace: Old Baths built between 1900 and 1902, this building typical spa architecture has become a cultural space (exhibits and media) and conferences.
• Water Garden Pre-Curious:

• This garden is located at the western entrance of Evian in a waterfront property from the lake. Research Unit and communication on wetlands, it has, through an exhibition and a route through the park, various water-related ecosystems: lake, river, marsh, wet meadow, delta ...
• The site can be visited from May to September with a guide, access solar boat (capacity 70 people) from Evian.
• Tours at 10am, 13:45 and 15:30 - 2h (boat transportation included). Wednesday through Sunday in May, June and September and daily in July and August.

• Sources of natural mineral water Evian, avenue des Sources: The source Cachat - Sainte Catherine old fountain - is the most famous of the many sources that emerged in Evian. Built in 1903, as the bar in front of it, it runs continuously every day of the year at a temperature of 11.6 °.
• Exhibition Hall of the League of Evian Mineral Water:

• Located in the heart of the pedestrian street, the bar Cachat, built in 1903 by architect Jean Hébrard, is a masterpiece of Art Nouveau.
• From May to September, it houses an exhibition on products of the brand Evian. Promotional items shop.

• Visit to Evian bottling plant:

• Industrial site - plain Amphion 5 km.
• Guided tours with presentation of the history and the geological origin of the mineral water, then discover the whole process of bottling. Tours for individuals from June to September. Group visits throughout the year from mid-January to mid-December.

• Evian Masters: late July - One of the largest women's golf competitions in the world.
• Rally Cup of the Alps: the third week of June. This historic rally legend connects the annual Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean. 200 rally cars participating in this event whose start is Evian.
