Epfig stretches on the gentle slopes of a hill that belongs to the foothills of the Ungersberg.
The village is formed around a Roman fort built by Julius Caesar. The town is mentioned for the first time in 762 and his name is derived from the Latin "apex" (top). It is owned by the Bishops of Strasbourg the 11th century to the Revolution.
The town extends over 2 200 hectares. The 560 hectares planted with vines on the municipal ban make Epfig most common wine from Alsace. It is crossed by the Wine Trail Fronholz.
The town of Epfig offers a wide range of services, products enjoy a historical (Rohan Castle ...) and landscapes to discover. The town also hosts the largest French producer of chocolate molds (Easter Bunnies, Saint Nicolas ...).
- The chapel of Sainte-Marguerite (XI-XII centuries) is one of the major sites of Romanesque regional. Located at the end of the Sainte-Marguerite (Kogenheim direction), the chapel is characterized by its cross-shaped construction, fully arched 11th century, at the crossroads which is the tower. Visitors can also explore its medieval garden.

- Reception of tourists in July and August. Every Sunday morning from 11am to 12pm, Town Hall Square, a place to welcome tourists, in the presence of several villagers. Sparkling wine, Gewurztraminer, Kougelhopf will be offered.
- December: from the 2nd Sunday of Advent from 11 am to 12 pm, welcoming tourists to the relay of the road opposite the Romanesque chapel of Sainte-Marguerite. Tourists can discover the Alsatian traditions, share a moment about a hot with wine and bredele bierewecke.
