Enghien-les-Bains is a town of Val-d'Oise, located just 11 km northwest of Paris.

The city of Enghien-les-Bains was established by law in 1850. Its name comes from the lordship of Enghien, near Mons in Belgium. In 1689, the Prince of Conde is lord of the land in Montmorency. It is also lord of Enghien in Hainaut. He obtained the king's permission to change the name of his duchy in the peerage of Montmorency d'Enghien. Thus the new pond of Montmorency (future Lake Enghien) he becomes the pond of Enghien.
