Durfort, the entrance to the Black Mountain:

The village is located in Durfort the Tarn between Revel, Haute-Garonne and the Tarn Soreze. It borders the banks of the Sor, the local river leads down to the Black Mountain. The picturesque village is built around the place of Plo. You will find many old houses cantilevered through the alleys crisscrossed by a central channel where water flows clear and abundant.

The birth of the boiler:

Around 1415, the hydraulic power of Sor was used to actuate the hammers. It was the birth of the boiler to Durfort, it would become an important regional center for the future. This activity has evolved over the centuries, but it has always been of great importance in local life. The expertise of Boilermakers has contributed greatly to the evolution of this profession and reputation.

Durfort village, famous for the copper industry from the 16th century, has diversified with many other shops and workshops: leather, basketry, local produce?? This dynamic craftsmanship assures a tourist village very important, more than 100 000 visits per year throughout the year, including Sundays. A parking area for 250 cars (cars, campers, buses) with picnic area and toilet block are available to visitors.
