In the year 640, we read in the archives religious Jura: "It is the last valley in the Jura Parish Drunc. Located in the center of a dry valley, the village must have Drom origins dating between the 4th and 7th century. Etymologically, the name comes from the water: Hydra, "stagnant water". Indeed, for centuries, the occupants of this site have been victims of alternating droughts and floods. No rivers, no springs and wells, but water still present in the depths of its underground karst. And who knows reappear in small geysers and resurgence episodic to create a river that runs through the village and forms a lake in the middle of the valley. Moreover, in the 19th century, an original solution was devised to remedy the disastrous floods: a tunnel to escape to the river valley nearby. Canceled by the war of 1870, the second part of this project was even completed in 1996! All these phenomena are now hydrogeological explained in a short tourist route and teaching: the Karst Trail "The Ways of Water" by local historian, Hector Caillat (teacher of the late 19th century). The church is mentioned from 1184, and the choir was rebuilt in 1475 in the Gothic tradition, his side still a tower, only remnant of the original chapel.
