It Edmee Chatenay-Crespin (small-gardener's son of Louis XIV), which launches the culture of roses Doue the 18th century. Thanks to the mild climate of the famous and rich soil, this crop has grown considerably. Over 45% of national production comes from Douessin, this means that the region's first center in Europe with over 7 million roses a year.
Another peculiarity of this city is its famous cave heritage.
Biotech Park Zoo Doue: 14 ha, more than 600 animals, bred here for the preservation of their species in a unique setting, carved into the stone of Anjou.
