Located at the crossroads Charolais and Macon, Dompierre-les-Ormes is a rural village to tourism, which developed in preserving the beauty of its landscapes and quality of life for its people.

SIGHTSEEING

Arboretum Pézanin: Out of 26 hectares with 5 acres of pond, Arboretum Pézanin allows the discovery of 400 species of trees and rare species in a remarkable setting. Created in 1903 by the Vilmorin family, it is state owned and managed since 1935 by the NFB (National Forests) since 1969. Its creator tried to acclimate to many species worldwide, some specimens have survived until today despite the storms of 1982.1983 and 1999.

Gallery European Forestry and Wood: Located near the Arboretum Pézanin, it is an exceptional collection. In addition, its unique architecture and innovative, combining wood and glass, fits perfectly into the local landscape. Unique in France, the Gallery has been designed to be both a tourist and cultural center for the promotion and exploitation of wood and its related activities and a meeting place between the public and professionals. EVENTS AND CELEBRATIONS

The 2nd Saturday in March: Carnival parade followed by a meal and a masked ball hosted by the Commercial Union.

3rd Sunday of March: Spring Hiking organized by the Association of Parents of pupils. Channels 4, 8, 12, 19 and 25 km. Starting at 8 am at the Village Hall.

June: Feast of Pentecost, organized by the Festival Committee with funfair 3 days. Football tournament at 4 to 15h, then retired and torches and fireworks free outdoor dance on Saturday, play the next afternoon and finish of the Tour of Brionnais Charolais cycling race by step with the presence of Miss Burgundy Monday.
