The village lies in Darazac Xaintrie. Old word for a bound or limit. Xaintrie is a former territory of the abbots of Aurillac and Viscounts of Turenne. It is a region wedged between Lower Limousin, Auvergne and Quercy, on a plateau with deep gorges formed by the rivers of three rivers Maronne, Cere and the Dordogne.
