TOWN PRESENTATION

Cuzance at the junction of 3 provinces (lower Limousin, Quercy and Perigord high), on the Causse de Martel, is a peaceful and quiet village, located close to major sites. Cuzance is surrounded by a large number of villages classified among the most beautiful villages in France. Its history is linked to that of the Vicomte de Turenne. The village is very oriented farming and agriculture, grew until the early 20th century, then the population has declined to back the last ten years. Its traditions are those that are found in the region, the former still speak Occitan dialect and it has kept the habits of the past: making bread in traditional ovens, preserved duck and goose, wine countries, walnut oil and the various related products. The reintroduction of the nose is also very present in this part of Haut Quercy. The preservation of the houses with their roofs and Quercy stone or slate of the country.

SIGHTSEEING

Heritage Cuzance is represented by the village church (XII century) and the hamlet of Rignac (ranked 12th century chapel).

The small heritage is well represented with thirty crosses and crucifixes, a dozen fountains located on the town are being rehabilitated.

Cuzance Heritage Association is very active in the restoration of heritage and the opening and marking hiking trails that line the joint. A roads is part of a route across the entire country of Martel.

Many activities are available within a short range: water sports with numerous bodies of water, not to mention the Dordogne. The hike in all its forms is feasible with themed itineraries, guided tours of Martel Carennac Loubressac, Autoire, Turenne, Collonges-la-Rouge (among the most beautiful villages of France), or the many castles, not forgetting large sites such as Rocamadour, Padirac, Sarlat and the Dordogne valley.

The parks are also very active with the Reptiland, the animal park Gramat the monkey forest and the rock of the eagles. But also the many ecomuseums theme.
