Creu is a small village which is near Lake Madine (about 7km).
Around 1750, a Duplessis was lord high, medium and low judge and appointed to cure; justice was exercised by the court guard. Creu existed before the 8th century. Count Wulfoald, founder of the Abbey of Saint-Mihiel, mentioned in 709 of the little river Creu (super fluviolo which vocatur Crui) and bought in the village land that gives his new abbey.
