The common Craponne is in the heart of the Auvergne, north of the Haute-Loire and a few miles away from neighboring departments, the Loire and the Puy de Dome, in the territory of the Regional Natural Livradois- Drill.

The downtown, dating back over 1,000 years, can be visited on the occasion of Triads (early August), or free with a tour guide available free at the Tourist Office.

Lace Craponne has the reputation of the city. The lace is always found every Tuesday at Grenette to perpetuate this tradition.
