Its gastronomic specialties: Specialty cordaise par excellence, the crunch, is a subtle blend of sugar, egg whites, flour and almonds, which comes from the Middle Ages. They are found in all good pastries cordaises. Located on the AOC Gaillac wine is a specialty of Country Cordes. Any time the tenants have been careful to select varieties best suited to the climate and terrain to produce a quality wine preserving its specificity. Some varieties are typical in the Gaillac vineyards: the mauzac the ondec and in the el.

Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art:
It is installed in the Maison du Grand Fauconnier (Historical Monument) and offers a unique encounter between the historical architectural heritage and artistic creation. This museum has four rooms:
The room devoted to the painter Yves Brayer (1907-1990) who was one of the greatest figurative painters of the 20th century.
Space Verdet collects the donation made in 2002 by André Verdet and the municipal collection of contemporary works.
The room Baskine / Meunier that exposes all of the work of Maurice Baskine and some works of surrealist Francis Meunier.
The room Embroidery traces this activity that made the richness of Strings between 1880 and 1930.
Museum of Art and History Charles Portal:
Located at the Porte des Ormeaux, this museum has collections of objects from excavations on Strings (Well of Halle from 1954 to 1961) and region (1977 to 1985).
It provides information to better understand the history and architecture of the city.
An exclusive film shows the inside of the mysterious well of the hall.
The history of the city is found in all the exhibitions organized but also in the building itself of the 13th century.
The museum including the Free Ferrat, dated the 13th century, and in Occitan recounts the major events in the City.
Art Museum of Sugar:
The museum is located at the top of the city in the House Prunet. Visitors can admire the many accomplishments of sugar from various methods. This permanent exhibition, unique, includes hundreds of pieces made by the team of Meilleur Ouvrier de France: Yves Thuriès.
In the original surroundings carefully studied lighting, two large showrooms gather in showcases masterpieces of sugar and chocolate in all shapes and sizes.

Medieval Festival Grand Fauconnier: 14 and 15 July. During the two festival days, bagpipes, troubadours, fire eaters, jugglers, acrobats, musicians, falconers, knights, nobles, peasants and innkeepers will march in the streets. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, with entertainment and shows continuous, medieval dance, fire show ... These festivals will immerse you in the heart of the Middle Ages.
Music on Sky Festival in July. "Music of Heaven" allows young soloists to deepen the work of a contemporary composer in his presence and to interpret his works in public every night. At the top of the city, concerts will be held the evening at Saint-Michel. Meetings musicians, luthiers and bow will be held at the House Gaugiran.
