The common Coimères is a former colony of Sescas, origin certainly Gallo-Roman. She was formerly on the old road leading from Langon Bazas.

The Romanesque church of the 12th century, has a trefoil choir and west front of this bare arches resting on slender columns, only archivolt is decorated with saw teeth. The building has been extensively reworked in 1856. The cemetery surrounds the church, as was the custom formerly.

Instead Lamothe said, a large rampart occupying a large space surrounded by ditches filled with water is the vestige of a feudal mound.

To the west of the town, stands the castle of La Roque (named after its former owners), dating from the first half of the 17th century. It maintains a round time. The rest of the building consists of a main building and a pavilion decorated with a double balcony.
